We are looking for new team members!

UPDATE: We are overwhelmed by the number of great applications and therefore cannot accept any more at the moment. Thank you for your interest in supporting us!

Would you like to help organize events for women to connect them on collective hikes? Inspire people with exciting content or empower them with knowledge? Then you’ve come to the right place! We are looking for support in our team from February / March 2023 for the following two positions:

1. Community and event manager (approx. 12 days / year)

2. Hiking Coordinator (approx. 5 days / year)

Community and event manager – support us with ...

… the organization of hikes (setting up posts on the website in DE/EN, planning Mailchimp dispatch, creating stories)

… organizing events “behind the scenes” (collecting ideas and planning events, e.g. requesting huts, managing registrations…)

… planning our social media posting calendar (selecting & pre-planning posts, responding to questions from the community…)

… the coordination of our internal team (setting up meetings..)

This is currently done by the founder Julia, with whom you will work closely. For this position you should have the following qualifications:

> Time (1 day per month, more is of course always welcome).

> Pleasure in and ideally first experience with organizing events

> Enjoy researching, preparing and/or planning content for our Instagram page “swissmountaingirls”.

> First experience in WordPress / Mailchimp / Facebook Creator Studio or great interest to learn it (we help you!)

> Indesign experience and a flair for graphics & design is a plus

> Ideally own ideas that fit our motto “Connect, Inspire, Empower” and the drive to then implement them

> English skills (we speak English in the team). DE, FR or IT are a plus

If you would like to offer hikes yourself, that is of course possible – please note that in your mail! It is important to us that you really want to build up SMG together with the team and that you can promise us your time and support for the duration of one year on at least 12 days. During this time, you’ll make people happy, get super networking opportunities, and learn new skills! But, and we are very transparent about this: this is a volunteer position (for all of us). You can find out more about this and how to apply here.

Hiking Coordinator – support us with...

… the planning of hikes (max. red-white) in Switzerland, especially in the area of Ticino or Western Switzerland, but also in German-speaking Switzerland.

… the planning of our annual event (“Get together”) to bring together women who enjoy being outdoors in real life.

This is currently done by Katerina, Ariane and the founder Julia, are you our new fourth or fifth team member? For the position you best bring the following requirements:

> Time (at least 5-6 days per year)

> Experience in hiking (weather, equipment, distance and altitude), active in the mountains yourself

> Experience in planning routes with Komoot and / or Swisstopo

> Enjoyment of and ideally first experience with organizing events / hikes (coordinating participants, bus and train connections, route research…)

> Empathy and pleasure in being with & connecting people

> English skills (we speak English in the team). DE, FR or IT are a plus

It is important to us that you really want to build up SMG together with the team and that you can promise us your time and support on at least 5 days for the duration of one year.

How you can become part of our team

You want to get involved, learn new things and build Swissmountaingirls together with us? To connect other women at events and hikes and to inspire and empower people?

Cool, then we should get to know each other! One more important point: Before applying, please note that we all work on a voluntary basis and that this is a (monetarily) unpaid position – but it still pays off when you feel the joy of the participants at events! And we always divide any tips fairly among ourselves after deducting the fixed costs.

You are still with us? Yay! Then send us an email with the subject line: “Community and Event Manager SMG” or “Hiking Coordinator SMG” to hello@swissmountaingirls.ch. We don’t need a classic CV, but be sure to tell us what motivates you to join us and what experience you already have. Application deadline is at the beginning of February – we look forward to hearing from you!
